<x-charset windows-1255>Dwell meters usually just measure the average voltage produced by a switch (points) grounded part of the time and on 12volts the rest of it. It's not change very much, and it's not considered very critical anyway - there's a wide tolerance on its value. Cars can run much better with more than the recommended advance; be careful you haven't got too much now as it can damage the engine. You really should try to find the correct idle advance for the distributor you are using. Did you remove the vacuum hose to time it? Factory instruction for most engines around then is to do that. Maybe check out the ignition timing on my website if you've not yet done so. Dave.
