Re: [T3] Timing and dwell

<x-charset windows-1255>Hi,

Thanks, Dave and everyone else, for your advice on timing.

I read yesterday that the stock static timing settings are based on the
assumption that you are using 90 octane petrol. This, I suppose, is what was
available in the US at the time. Over here, I am using 96 octane leaded
fuel, the only type of leaded fuel still available here. This is soon to be
taken off the market here too, so I will be left the with choice of 95 or 98
octane lead-free petrol.

Anyway, how should I expect the more potent petrol to affect the timing?

No, I didn't remove the vacuum hose. I only saw this mentioned as necessary
for later engines.

While on the subject of petrol, does anyone have any experience with the
additives used in leadfree fuel in old engines to simulate lead? I know the
proper solution is to change the valves so the car can use leadfree fuel,
but I need something I can use until I do that.

Regards,

Daniel Baum
