I had one do that many years ago, and it turned out to be the FI power relay under the back seat was loose. Parts for the FI are available if you look for them here on the T-3 list. I don't think anyone here on the list throws anything away, especially FI parts. With a Robert Bentley manual for the Type 3 with FI and a good volt/ohm meter, you can trouble shoot it fairly easily. As for putting an upright engine in the car, don't do it. It won't last, due to cooling problems. The upright engine is designed to be isolated, top and bottom, so it doesn't suck hot air back into the engine. If installed into a T-3, it will just overheat, unless some provision is made to stop this. -- Russ Wolfe '66 FB MT (It drove) '71 FB AT '65 Bug (not running) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
