don't know about this stuff but have had very good experience with a product
called Frigilene (not 100% on spelling). Its a laquer used on jewellery, you
spray it on and it seems to disappear, like its absorbed into the metal.
Does a very good job. Of course it will scratch eventually, but may be worth
a look.
