Re: [T3] My Squareback & I need some help

<x-charset iso-8859-1>Greetings List!
I've been out here trying to understand this language you guys speak. Now I
have to speak up and ask for some assistance. Please give me some guidance.

I bought Miss Kittie, she's a 1973 Squareback FI, two months ago. Love at
first site. She's the practical replacement daily drive for my 73 Karmann
Ghia. Okay, so she was a bit sluggish at first. I was trying to adjust to
the whole type III thing, too so I wasn't sure what was normal. But she'd
have these really good days, too. And then go right back to low/no energy.
I thought maybe she was being visited by the 90 yr. old first owner who
garaged her for 9 quiet years. So I got some help and replaced her plugs,
plug wires, distributer cap, replaced her dry rotted bellows, and replaced
any questionable hoses. Better. But still good days and bads days. So I
started cleaning. Major improvements immediately...for about 15 miles.
Then return to low power, barely any acceleration. So, I cleaned all the
connections I could get to. She purred. She was a teenager again romping
through the streets. For 30 miles. Two miles from home she starts missing
and coughing and reaching for her walker. This moring she sputtered and
farted for three blocks. Is this a condensor issue? Coil? She got a new
brain in "98 from her second owner. What can I do next?
Please advise.
Jayne & Miss Kittie
