There's really no advantage to polyurethane here, and it is a LOT of work to install them. Polyurethane might be better if it was a harder version than the stock material, but the stock material is pretty stiff. The bushing are responsible for very little in the ride, the shocks are responsible for most of it. Be careful with shock purchases. It's useful to ask what shocks they recommend for your type 3 and for the same year beetle. In many cases, the same shocks are sold for both. I take this as a sign that they really don't have a type 3 shock. If they sell the same shock, but it is an adjustable shock, then this is likely okay, but not otherwise. OTOH, I've got to mention that no matter what you do, don't throw away your OE shocks. The quality of the OE shocks is without parallel, so if you don't want them right now, someone else may. You may want them in a few years when a lot of the cheap replacements break down. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
