I recommend reusing the old cam IF POSSIBLE because the new cams are
coming with unreliable metallurgy. Even Berg is having trouble. While the
lifters start out convex, they are ALL worn concave by the time they see a
rebuild, so I have done well by just replacing them, but if your cam is so bad
that it would quickly destroy new lifters then you need to look for a new one.
Try to find an OLD one, more than 10 years old, and pay attention to the
gear size, IT'S IMPORTANT (as Leon can attest.)

As for heads, I have little experience with RIMCO and none with Berg,
RIMCO is cheap and Berg is expensive. I've had some more than standard
repairs done by RIMCO and it was done well, but in the end, I think you're
right that I'm just happy with what I have available here without shipping.
