First, thanks for this nice post.  I am also
in a parma-induced mid-rebuild.
Two questions:
(1) Why do you favor using the old cam?  The reason I ask is that
mine was very pitted and worn looking, and the lifters were
actually CONCAVE instead of convex.  So I hadnt planned on
reusing the cam--are you implying that the available new cams arent
very good?

(2) What about Berg or RIMCO also doing the heads?  Is this
just because you just feel you have an extremely good local shop,
so why bother with the shipping?
