I remember back in about 95-96, when Sony's Discman was becoming popular, there was an adapter that looked like a cassette which you could put in your car's cassette player, and plug a standard headphone type socket into the discman to play CD's. These might be still avaliable, then any car stereo with a cassette would do- instant 'line in'.
