<x-charset iso-8859-1>Hi Bill, Yes, we're another bunch of VW nutters! No m-code plate on the Type 3s - seems to be something only the Type 2s have. Maybe production was run differently at Hanover. There's a list of m-codes on my website; you can look at your car and work out what some of the codes would be. There's also a page to help make sense of the chassis and production plates, with an address for the VW museum. The VW Museum will sell you a certificate with them on for 15DM ($15 accepted). You have probably found the production plate that tells you when it was made - xx(week)-x(day)-xxxx(some sort of code we're still trying to crack at the moment!). I had an e-mail from Vincent who has a useful Type 2 chassis codes site:- http://www.type2.com/m-codes/ , but I guess you knew that one. Dave. I'm the new owner of a very original, low mile, one owner 1970 squareback. Found it in the paper and had to have it!! The addiction is bad folks! Spent some time on the type2 list and I'm sure I will receive the same great info and camaraderie on this one. Right off the bat, does anyone know if there is an m-code plate for the squareback? Looked all over and couldn't find one. > > Regards, > mrbill > 70 squareback (Dolly) > 63 dbl cab (Hopper) > 71 hardtop camper (for sale, see in Feb Hot v-dubs..pg 72) > 73 Thing (still in the barn) > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------- > Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe > > > </x-charset>
