Put your hand on the relay whenever you try to start the car. You should be able to FEEL this relay click and then unclick if the engine doesn't start. If you don't feel this then the control signal isn't getting this far. The real trick is that you have to test things when they aren't working, otherwise everything is fine, right? The thing to check for is to hear the whirr, hear/feel the clicks, and verify power on the single red wire.
