<x-charset windows-1255>A little digging and I think I've found the answer to my question: This site http://www.type2.com/library/electrip/boignp.htm gives the correct Bosch part numbers for the various VW distributors. From it I see that both my condenser and original rotor are the correct ones for a 1.6 Type 3, somewhat to my surprise. The Beetle rotor is different and I'm pretty sure that the rotor I bought was for a Beetle, even though it doesn't have a part number printed on it. Obviously if the new one had had a different Bosch part number printed on it I wouldn't have used it. I had no idea they were different. I wasn't even sure I had the original Type 3 distributor. I held them side by side and examined them before I installed the new one to see if they were the same and couldn't see any difference, but there obviously is one. I hope I haven't screwed my distributor cap.
