My Fastback doesn't really start up well with or without chokes in cold weather. I used to have a 1302S with 32PDSIT's that had the chokes disabled, and it would start up fine in any weather. It only took 2 turns of the engine before it fired right up. I had the chokes on my Fastback disabled until last week, and it took 2 pumps of the accelerator before it would start, and it would usually conk straight out again. After another pump and starting it up again, it would idle rough but stay idling. I put the chokes back on again, and now it still takes about 5-6 turns of the engine and a bit of fiddling with the accelerator to get it started, but it starts up reasonably well once the weather has warmed up a bit later in the day. Is there some sort of procedure to get the chokes adjusted right? At the moment I have them set at the index marks on the side of the choke housing, and in cold temperatures (about 5?C) they are nearly closed.
