Bentley et. al. confirmed that it is the bolt I thought it was. It is on the left, but pointing backwards, towards the aircleaner. I hope the w*nk*r that assembled it only put the clamp on upside down, and not the whole distributor (or the whole engine :~) ) There's definitely something wierd going on in there, but the wierdest thing of all is that the engine seems to work pretty well over all . . . . Some time soon I'm going to put an audio file of my engine running on my website, so maybe then you'll all be able to tell me whether it sounds right or not.
