Why not? The whole point is to get the contaminated fluid out, and even if 
10% flows back in, that's where it came from in the first place, so there's still 
a net gain.

If you're concerned about sucking dirt from the bleed valve back into the 
system, then you can/should clean off the bleed valve before you start, and 
that is also just one more reason (out of many) why you should be careful to 
keep the little rubber bleed valve caps in place on your car when you're done.

Another thing that works well on our cars is to just install the hose and open 
the valve and watch the fluid come out. The reservoir is nearly 3 feet above 
the MC so fluid will flow just from gravity if the hoses are in good shape (not 
blocked.) Doing this from the start with a dry system will take a long time, 
but it is an easy and effective way to check for air in the wheel cylinders and 
calipers.
