Hi all..... in my past experience with FI "run on" problem these are the things I have usually found. If the intake valves are to tight, then the car "diesels" for a few revs after the key is turned off. The valve stays open just a bit longer to draw in for a bit longer...or somethun like that?!?! Must be the Seismic By-Lateral Flux Coil Syndrome that they have been battling on the planet "ZXion" for the last few light years. Just like the dreaded fruit fly and the killer bees, it was sure to get here sometime! The other thing is the engine running hot..... and that usually comes from the EXHAUST valves being tight. That problem probably stems from the "Way To Tight Exhaust Valve" syndrome from Wolfsburg...:+) Seriously though folks... the valves are a given constant with these engines... and much blame is given to other parts of the car from them being loose. I have set exhaust valves at .008 on troublesome cars and that has helped BUNCHES! Does not seem to hurt anything ... car still runs strong and such. Setting the intake valves at .008 helps to see if the problem goes away with the run-on.
