I use a spark plug socket with a 3inch extison and start the plugs by hand then tighten with ratchet, 1/2 turn past snug to crush washer.To clean hole use a spark plug threader, with grease on it, to clean the threads(grease to catch the shavings)14mm, be sure to have it at the right angle. Don't see why it took so long,You must like being with your car. Let us know how it turns out. Phil (P.S.
