Perhaps you're right, but I just object to the use of rotary to mean Wankel when ALL engines rotate. While it is true that the Wankel lacks reciprocating parts, it is not true that our engines lack rotating parts. So the use of the word rotary is ambiguous, while the words reciprocating and Wankel are not. For that matter, perhaps the word pancake isn't all that good either, since it might be taken to refer to a Wankel's rotor. So we're back where you came in; this just confuses the issue.
