Then, depending on year, you have either version A, B, C, or D (altho I saw that 'Pat@volksclocks' put the E version on his son's '71...). > Before working with the fuel injection, I would recommend you check or > replace you spark plugs, wires, and points. Great advice here. Never touch the FI until the regular ol' tune-up items are in order. Also check the timing and system voltage to make sure they are all in order. > The injector wires with gray boot should be on cylinders 2 and 4 ( the rear > most 2 injectors) and the black booted wires should be on cylinders 1 and 3 > ( the forward most 2 injectors) ...Assuming the boots are still there and intact... > If yours hasn't been messed with and you want to try to > adjust it here are some very important notes: .. I think you're much better off never trying to touch this unless you have the O2 sensor. By playing around with it, odds are that you'll mess something up and be worse off than before. In addition to the Bentley manual (and some of the links you list), I like the Elfrink FI manual. I found mine in a used book shop.. -Mark Fuhriman '69 Fastback ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
