The PS has been tampered with if the black cap on the back is 
gone.

The earlier pressure sensor bodies were not grounded in any way, 
and they tended to work fine. The later ones brought out a ground 
from the brain in order to eliminate the possiblity of any 
electrostatic problems from the ignition system. Disconnecting this 
wire won't make any dfifference 99.99% of the time.

Gotta wonder about that odometer....
