The part is unique to T3s, unfortunately. Unless you're really lucky, you won't be able find a NOS one. You'll need to pull the one you've got before it gets worse and leaves you in the lurch somewhere you really don't want to be. There's a good chance it's a seal, but you need to find out what you're dealing with before you buy a set, because there's three types, depending on case and cooler vintage. Old-old, new-new and old-new and they take different combinations of spacers on the hold-down bolts. Bentley and the archives here have more details. The good news is that the seals are cheap and are the same as bugs and busses, so are readily available. The bad news is there's a lot of crap out there that can split and leave you stranded with no oil in the engine. I imagine that you could check for leaks in the cooler itself with some compressed air, a bucket of water and a big thumb. Just don't dial the pressure up too high, probably 20lbs is more than enough or you'll definitely have a leaky cooler. It's a pain to pull the cooler with the engine in the car, just drop a nut down between the cylinders and you'll find out how much fun it is. Much easier with it out, but if you're not set up for that, be prepared for a lot of fishing and a sore back. Clean out the cooler fins while you have it out, #3 will thank you.
