This would be great if I wanted a permanent bond. It's just that sometimes I like to do a little painting on things or pull the door apart and need something I can pull the seal off of without damaging it. Those door seals are mighty expensive right now. I've been using Pliobond and yellow 3M Weatherstrip adhesive. The seal can be detached from either of these without leaving big chunks behind and can thus be reused. A little naptha and some rubbing and the old adhesive comes off so they're ready for reattachment. Also the paint doesn't get damaged that way.
