we_are_1-3-8=> Backfiring and stalling. ... timing and valves adjusted => good points ,coil, cap and rotor, I have decided to sync my carbs. When you say 'backfiring,' do you mean fire from coming up through the carb (very bad), or do you mean the popping of postignition (no big deal)? Carbs out of sync don't usually produce these symptoms. Give us some details on your timing: dwell angle, static setting, advance angle, year of your engine, distributor type, etc. => I am thinking that it is in no way the same as adjusting a 4 Barrel Holly. You're absolutely right about that. I have no experience with those carbs, but I'd guess that your fuel adjustment is done by changing jets.
