Sounds as if there will need to be a Herbie style rescue of all Type
3s from California to save them from this.
Germany has recently been suggesting (or implementing?) laws against
recycling of parts.  Both Germany and France (and Ireland?) have had
scrapping subsidies if you purchase a new vehicle.

Skilfully slanted programmes can also change the public attitude to
owning and running an old (= dirty) car.  Time to point out the
benefits of FI Type 3s; low CO emission and no re-manufacturing
pollutants (typically 40% of the pollution produced by a vehicle in
its life).


Does anyone know if aircraft are included in pollution calculations?
I don't see them cutting down on that.  Most of it ends up somewhere
else, I suppose.
