Do you believe the axle itself is bent, or do you mean the axle tube? 
If the car is rolling, does the wheel wobble?

Replacing an axle and/or axle tube requires some pretty extensive 
disassembly. If the axle is actually bent, I'd want to check out the 
transaxle very carefully for internal damage. Axles are tough, and the 
amount of force necessary to bend one would almost certainly cause other 
damage. 

I‡­ûnor has a good transaxle, it would probably be simpler and 
smarter to pull both rear ends -- subchassis, trannies, axles, hubs, 
everything -- and exchange them.  

On the other hand, if it's just the tube, it's a fairly straightforward 
replacement. 

=> Is there an easy eay of replacing the outer skin?

It'll be a big project. Are you at all familiar with body work?
