Re: [T3] Fuel Injection Problem (revisited)

Well, right off the bat, check to see that the hose is on both ends
that runs from the intake air distributor to the pressure sensor.
Without it on, the poor control box thinks you've got the butterfly
wide open and races the engine. It commonly happens to me either when
I forget to stick it on after putting an engine in or it gets knocked
off while messing around on the left side of the engine. The end is
kind of hard to see under the air distributor, I usually end up
feeling around under there for a long time to find the hose barb. The
only other thing is that maybe the idle screw is wide open or the hose
to the auxilary air regulator got knocked off. Us¿QÛVe auxilary
air regulator hose being off doesn't cause as much racing as the
pressure sensor one.

When i went to start it up, after setting the timing to whatever degree mark The Official Manual has (i already had a copy and i think it was 5 BTDC but don't hold me to it right now), anyways, the engine starts up a little rough, and then after a few, probably like 10 or less seconds of running, the engine greatly increses speed. The RPM's get really high before i decide to shut the engine off. It sounds as though somebody is pressing the accelerator and isn't letting up.

They all look ok to me, they are all lined up like they should be (with the notches and all) so i don't know what to do. Obviously i am missing something unless something has broken in the last few weeks since i last had the engine running well (before i took it apart to add the case glue which i forgot DOH!).

>For those of you experts at the fuel injection system, what could possibly go wrong to cause the RPM to just skyrocket like that, and how do i check it. I've been through the Bosch service manual, the official Bentley manual, the Chilton, and the wonderful John Muir book and nothing seems to help. I am really desperate and need some help.
