Hello, it's me again, i thought i'd re-clarify my problem It has to do with my '72 FI system on my Squareback. I just got the engine put back together, like i said earlier. When i went to start it up, after setting the timing to whatever degree mark The Official Manual has (i already had a copy and i think it was 5 BTDC but don't hold me to it right now), anyways, the engine starts up a little rough, and then after a few, probably like 10 or less seconds of running, the engine greatly increses speed. The RPM's get really high before i decide to shut the engine off. It sounds as though somebody is pressing the accelerator and isn't letting up. The RPM's get really high then i shut it off for fear of causing it to "redline" so to speak and cause damage. So my question. I have been over all my hoses and ground connections, and MPC's. They all look ok to me, they are all lined up like they should be (with the notches and all) so i don't know what to do. ObviouslyýÞÞssing something unless something has broken in the last few weeks since i last had the engine running well (before i took it apart to add the case glue which i forgot DOH!). For those of you experts at the fuel injection system, what could possibly go wrong to cause the RPM to just skyrocket like that, and how do i check it. I've been through the Bosch service manual, the official Bentley manual, the Chilton, and the wonderful John Muir book and nothing seems to help. I am really desperate and need some help. I'm hoping someone on here's had the same problem so that they know what to do, thank you Jacob Schroeder '72 Square _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web.
