[T3] A few questions from downunder

We've recently bought a Type III (1967) and are having a few problems
starting it. The starter motor is turning over fine but it just won't kick
in. It has decided not to start at various times and in various situations.
I have a feeling we just need to change the spark plugs......but I have a
few questions.

(1) How do you get to the spark plugs???

I know where they are I just don't know how to get to them. We almost lost a
plug into the depths of the engine because we just couldn't reach it.

(2) Is there a special spark plug wrench for Type III or VWs in general?

(3) Could it be the timing?
