The engine bracket will need to be widened some for the new pump cover. The forward fan housing will need material removed for the new oil inlet, although some have successfully installed the hardware without having to machine away material (I just filled mine with steel epoxy). The oil pump outlet hole will need to be plugged and you will need to tap into the upper oil galley for the new oil inlet. The kit comes with instructions. The filter used (Fram HP-1) is a strong one, meant for high pressure, so it should be okay on cold mornings. I bought the by-pass oil pump cover just as a precaution, though :) For a confusing picture of sorta what it looks like see my T3T page: http://homepages.infoseek.com/~t3t/Main/fullflow.gif Toby Erkson air_cooled_nut@pobox.com <-- Please use this address for email '72 VW Squareback 1.6L bored and stroked to 2.0L, Berg five-speed '75 Porsche 914 1.8L, ORPCA member Portland, Oregon, http://www.pobox.com/~toby_erkson/ >-----Original Message----- >Does this mod require any machining of the engine case to install >it?
