I have EMPI 8-spokes on my 73 fastback and have had no problems whatsoever, except maybe that the standard VW lugnuts are a little on the short side...you will probably want to insert lug studs into your discs/drums and use acorn-style lug nuts (that way you can also use a wheel lock on each wheel, so some hoodlum doesn't make off with your new investment). I have settled on the eight spoke empi's for my 71 squareback. The guy at Komet in California said that on some squarebacks he thinks 71's the calipers rub on the spokes in the front. He says that a half-dollar sized disc sticks out too far... probably the back of the piston. Have any of you ever heard of this? He also said one guy just filed it down a little, and another option was to get some spacers from a porche dealer. Have any of you guys heard of such a problem for empi's on a 71 squareback, all stock? Thanks again, Charlie ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
