[T3] Chop job

Hi 
I have been playing with the idea of turning my T3 fast into a
convertible.............(pause)

Well, sorry but I think it looks cool.

What I want to do is very similar to a article in VW trends or hot VW of
approx. 6 years ago (dark metallic blue fasti). Do I have to support the
chassis before I chop or is it possible to do it alla tampon ad (Not meaning
to offend) where all it took was a angle grinder and a boiler maker. After
it will most likely go for a re-spray and fitment of electric stuff. If
supporting the chassis will be necessary, will round role-bars from the
firewall to the rear wheel arch be sufficient or do I have to weld a support
beam to the chassis, past the doors?
