Jim. How should the starter cables be connected? I'm having cold start problems, too. I know my temp sensor is out of order, and she seems to run way too rich. For the moment I have a manual on/off switch and a little potentiometer8奓ed in on the temp sensor wiring, which enables me to from the drivers seat manually "fool" the ECU to enrich the mixture. I kind of imitate the sensors behaviour. With the pot I can regulate the resistance and the mixture. When she starts getting warmer I turn off the switch, ("sensor hot") and goes to "normal mix" state. It works, but not very well... she often get "flooded" and I get foule plugs and lousy mileage. I like to restore the cold-start and warm-up systems, but I am suspectible about if everything really is connected right. PO made a engine swap, so who knows? I guess some day I have to tear down the whole FI and restaurate it piece by piece...*sigh* /Karl-Olov Sandin '73 Squareback FI >> > On 7 Dec 98, at 23:47, Dave Hall wrote: > > > The cold-start injector only works when the engine is being started; > > it works from the solenoid circuit. > > On 72s, with the computer diagnosis circuits, it is possible for the > starter wires to be put on wrong leaving the CS system energized all > the time.
