I've been sent alot of mail about that "little hole" the condenser was blocking (or I thought was blocking): looked real hard at the situation today; its NOT a little hole: thanks everyone for telling me there shouldn't be one. It's just a small section where the die iscast so deep that it FEELS like a hole. So I dont know what my first mechanic was talking about, and I dont know what solved that problem way back when. This is why he was my FIRST mechanic anyway. After a while I decided I didn't trust his judgement (but he was SO earnest and so eager to work on VWs, poor guy). Well, looks like I have some things to do on Saturday. Timing timing timing. Jim, I'll get a good look at my emiss. hoses this weekend and let you know whats what.. Last question: I dont have a strobe. Is the static timing method in Muir, while not perfect and maybe blasphemy to some, is it a reasonably good method?
