Just my $.02 worth about fuel filters; I have 5 in my Notch: one at the junction of the fuel line to the gas tank-this one is within the tank, when you turn the elbow connection off of the bottom of the tank, it will come out-it's a bronze mesh affair and gets fairly gunked from any particles in the tank. Next is the in-line filter just before the pump. This one I have replaced the plastic wedge shaped one with a Purolator glass and fabric/chrome housing unit. The filter in this one is replacable but I've never had to. The next filter is in the top of the fuel pump, I believe it is the input side. Once again, a bronze mesh screen. Last, there are two very small filters in the connections to the 34 ICT Webers that are in the car (one each carb). These are by far the finest of all, I guess to filter out all but the smallest particulates. Unfortunately, I have found a small amount of rust residue (almost like a brown paste) in the bottom of each float chamber of both carbs recently, so it looks like it about time for a boil out and seal session in my future. I suppose the moral of the story is that you just can't filter enough when it comes to gasoline. David Walters '73 1600 L Notch S. FL, USA
