Here it is in 42 easy steps...

   Pull your valve cover off cylinders 1 & 2.  Use a large screwdriver to start 
turning your engine clockwise.  Turn and watch until the intake valve 
(the inside one) on cylinder #1 dips in and starts to come out.
(This takes either a seven-foot arm or a very long neck to accomplish!)  
Number 1 cylinder will be coming into firing position then.  This having been
done, you can proceed on with timing in the normal (or abnormal) fashion
to which you are accustomed.
