True, but the gear box gets hot as well. Also, I use the second filter as a visual check more than a filter and I'm in my engine compartment regularly, usually keeping every thing clean and just checking connections (like the alternator belt deflection). I'm not worried about faulty connections. Besides, having to change/view the filter would be a total pain in the neck if it were on the other side of the firewall. My fuel pump, on the other hand, I would like to remove to help clean up the real estate on the top of the engine so I may move the second filter later on. Right now I'm wondering what electric fuel pump to use and pressure regulator (for carbs) that will give me trouble free operation.
