T3, Yeah, yeah. I wish. Anyway, it would be hard to imagine even an accidental, "really", late model Squareback rolling off the line in Germany. Talk about one off Volkswagens ... Oddly enough, I believe that it is Ferdinand Piech who owns a 1980 1303LS Convertible - made in April of 1980, well after the production officially stopped in Germany. I saw something about this at the museum. Apparently, this Super Cab was built from remaining spare parts for him personally by the factory as a gift. Its VIN does actually indicate it as being a 1980 model year and it has all of the possible extras added. I think he gave it to his wife and there was something about it never having been driven. I recall that their family also owns quite a few other rare Porsches (914s and 911s that do not exist as far as official records indicate). I wish VW would have made a 1978 Square from spares. It would be a rare Square indeed. 'Nuff said.
