The number on this engine is SFTR 167444. Your engine was built between august and dezember 1968. In August they started with number 574 186 and in december the starting number was 616 933. So your engine was produced somewhere in the middle, around september, which meets the date of the vehicle. By the way, since the car is out of the model-year 1969 which makes it one out 267,358 cars built in that year. My square is also one of them. I can`t tell anything about the number of your replacement engine. May somebody else from the list can ? Roland `69 square `69 TL `69 beetle
