I'm sure I have a steering wheel, but the problem in yours is probably just
the spring finger or the contact ring for the horn that is wearing through.
Have your mechanic remove the steering wheel (after marking the position)
and either fix or replace something. If you just let it go it will
eventually shear off and damage more stuff.

I think the contact ring may still be available from VW, and the spring
finger can be repaired with solder and brass sheet from the hardware store.
Your wiper problem is either unrelated or due to a broken part that has
fallen in the switch(72-3.)

I don't think anyone's clocks work any more. I have lots of them, but
nothing dependable. It's another of my projects to finally figure out why
those late types stop. The early ones don't keep very good time and their
unjeweled bearings wear out. (see greg's comments for more detail)
