I'm sure I have a steering wheel, but the problem in yours is probably just the spring finger or the contact ring for the horn that is wearing through. Have your mechanic remove the steering wheel (after marking the position) and either fix or replace something. If you just let it go it will eventually shear off and damage more stuff. I think the contact ring may still be available from VW, and the spring finger can be repaired with solder and brass sheet from the hardware store. Your wiper problem is either unrelated or due to a broken part that has fallen in the switch(72-3.) I don't think anyone's clocks work any more. I have lots of them, but nothing dependable. It's another of my projects to finally figure out why those late types stop. The early ones don't keep very good time and their unjeweled bearings wear out.
