Helloooo List, First I want to thank everyone that responded to my questions regarding my trouble of cylinders 1 & 2 not firing. I applied what I thought was relevant in attempting to rectify the problem. Bad news... none of them worked. But I have made a new discovery today. I removed the valve cover on the #1 & 2 cylinders & as the valve gasket seal was broke, about a pint of gas came POURING out. I checked all the valves to make sure none of them were stuck. None of them were(the clearance was also OK). Even after leaving the cover off for about 20 minutes, gas continued to drip. I solely suspect the carb that supplys fuel to these two cylinders. How would gas continue to get into the cylinder without the engine running? Dirty needle valve Or what??? If I have to remove the carb to install a rebuilding kit, which bolts do I remove? The ones that connect the "tube "from the carb to the intake, or the bolts that the carb mounts to the "tube".(I don't know the proper term for "tube"). Thanks All, Tom '68 FB (Thumper)
