daniel... check the shift rod coupler!
That's not the problem. The shift rod works OK, the car goes forward in "3" and backward in "R". Once it's going, it won't shift out of first.
It seems I may have been too hasty in saying no to this. Looking through Russ's manual, this is the first thing it says to check if you have no upshift (1st to 2nd is "upshift" right?) I'll check it out.
