Re: [T3] Carb Problems

<x-flowed>I've just rebuilt the carbs with new gaskets. Thoroughly cleaned out, twice. As far as I know I used the correct, thicker, gaskets. If anybody knows where I can buy the correct gaskets, please let me know. How thick should the gaskets be? I did have alot of drama with trying to stop the cabs from flooding. Fuel would just pour our of the main tube (whatever its' proper name is) and the engine would stall. As I had given the fuel pump pedestal a light sand to true it up, I thought the pressure may now be too high, so I fitted a slightly thicker gasket to compensate. I did measure the pressure at one stage, it was a bit over 3PSI. I'm sure one of the manuals said 3PSI was correct.

All hoses are new, so no cracks. Maybe to carbs themselves are leaking through the shafts or between the manifold?

Synchronised with a unisyn (the snail shaped thing). Followed the procedure given in a couple of manuals ie set initial positions of idle adjustment and idle mixture screws X turns in, then Y turns out. When car is warmed up, set idle speed by turning each sides adjustment screw in turn. Use synch tool to balance two carbs. Adjust mixture by turing in and out to achieve highest most steady idle. My Bentley has nothing on carbs, only FI, so I'm counting on a couple of other manuals, plus a procedure I downloaded from a list members site (sorry don't remeber who).
