Re: [T3] 6V headlight plugs

<x-rich>You are outraged by the connection design.

Get a watercooled Vanagon and you will be convinced that VW is a den
of many very mediocre engineers. The whole organization is filled with
arrogance and will display unparalleled vengeance going after anyone
who criticizes designs. Audi with self- jumping cars lost not long ago
millions and Continental did trashed me when I complained about very
premature cracking of made by them tires on my 1987 Westi.

Three Westies in the row leaked coolant after 30-40, 000 miles, and
1987 needed repairs 20 times in the first year.

When I visit local VW dealer I see technicians close to nervous
breakdown and hear the worst language and curses which can be heard
for a mile even in a hot air! The cars are designed to be serviced by
people with a foot long snake like fingers.

As for the customers, they are getting pale and mumbled like
lobotomized after hearing the service prices. No wonder cars made in
Japan and Korea are making heavy inroads in Germany.

SHOCKED

to see that the wires slip in push-on connectors!, no solder, no crimp
just

a weak little spring against the contact

NO WONDER 6V cars have trouble with the lights!!!

Who let the Lucas engineer in the VW R&D department??

This idea cant last long especially in the Rust belt, I think Ill
eather

replace it with a modern unit or solder the wires on... WOW! Now I

understand the Flashlight look of many of the early 6V lights
