It's not redundant, you definately need that. The hose that runs
towards the transmission is for the vacuum modulator, and you won't
shift right without it connected. Either duplicate the function of the
pipe with hose & fittings (requires drilling & tapping the manifolds)
.. or just use the stock manifolds from the Solexes. The ICT's fit
them just fine. Use the linkage that came with the Webers, though --
stock won't work with 'em.
2. I don't know if anyone is familiar with Weber 34 ICTs but there is a
small tube that comes out from the bottom of the carb just where they
bolt
on to the manifold, what does this do and is this connected to the
first
issue raised above?
Those are for the distributor vacuum advance. I'm using the port on
the left-side carb in my Bus and have the other carb's port capped off.
Works fine. Please, for the love of all that's holy, don't use an 009
distributor. The new ones are absolute garbage.
