I suspect that there's a good chance that they stand still while the valve stem moves back and forth under them, but I have nothing to base this on. Otherwise, I agree with what you suggest. > If you don't get another 4, best to put them on the exhaust valves I'd have > thought, but if I find some, I'll try to get them off to you on Monday. If I only had 4 I'm not sure where I'd put them. The fact that there's suction on the intake side would make me tend to put them there and let the exhaust valves get the extra lubrication, but Russ would do the opposite, but for the same reason. I've never heard anyone else suggest that these were there to deflect oil INTO the valve guides, but that doesn't mean that Russ is wrong. I haven't found any proof for either side of this debate anywhere. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
