I'd guess that they stay on the valve stem and move up and down with the valve
stem.  Presumably then, they stop excessive amounts running from rocker to stem,
but don't seal the top of the guide either, so some can still get into the
guide.  So you're both right.  Right?

If you don't get another 4, best to put them on the exhaust valves I'd have
thought, but if I find some, I'll try to get them off to you on Monday.
