RE: [T3] Sophy's Invasion Shake-down Run

The 71 has a PCV valve, and that tube to the filler, and works well but that
PCV valve as too much of a restriction with the vacuum available from the
carbbed setup on the Notch.

The other thing might be that Ive noticed the the Full mark on some of my
dipsticks has been about a half quart overfull, and the 71 will tend to suck
oil if its that high. With a full flow it can be hard to determine just how
much oil the system takes but if your still stock add the 2.5 qts and see
where the oil level falls.

I have Sophy's original 1966 small breather on there. The only
difference is that I used a late oil filler tube with the drain return
from the breather. I have the breather plumbed into it instead of just
the little rubber one-way flapper valve on the end.

Maybe that is forcing all the crankcase pressure to go into the air
cleaner since the bottom of that tube is also pressurized by the
crankcase. Hhhmmmmm. That might explain why I have a leak at the soft
joint between the down tube on the breather and the oil filler pipe
sometimes.

What do the newer cars do that have this arrangement? PCV valve?
