If it leaks and then I start the car the next day, the leak is mysteriously gone. I think that it is coming from the fuel pressure regulator on the fire wall. There is a spray of fuel to the right side of the engine compartment as well as a steady drip underneath just below the vacuum pod on the automatic transmission. The rubber lines are new. Can this regulator be repaired? Any advice? Does someone make a new regulator? > Not seeing anything, I'm not sure what's wrong here, but a few things to note: DO NOT DRIVE THIS CAR THIS WAY! The fuel pressure regulator, if equipped with EGR (which it should if it's a '73 Auto, at least originally, had it), is unique, as it has its input tube angled 90 deg to the rear, not straight out like all the others. The standard regulator is easy enough to find new, this one... unlikely. If you're going to be working with fuel, please do it outdoors. And if you want to pressurize the system and look for leaks, do it with the engine off by grounding the relay wire in the engine compartment. That said, these regulators are fairly bulletproof. I would look at hoses first. It's conceivable that if one of the regulator tubes got bent, it could crack. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
