My '73 Fastback has developed a strange fuel leak. It seems to occur only when the car hasn't been started for a week or two. If it leaks and then I start the car the next day, the leak is mysteriously gone. I think that it is coming from the fuel pressure regulator on the fire wall. There is a spray of fuel to the right side of the engine compartment as well as a steady drip underneath just below the vacuum pod on the automatic transmission. The rubber lines are new. Can this regulator be repaired? Any advice? Does someone make a new regulator?
