>>>As for the uprights, they go under the headliner at the top of the posts, with the headliner rolled under to create a finished edge for the top of the post.<<< My headliner that came out was exactly the opposite of that, with the uprights overlapping the headliner, with the uprights just cut straight across to create the straight finished edge......oh well, it's going back in my T3 just the way I took it out, factory correct or not....it does still look good this way, too.....I doubt it matters except for the purists.... Your right about the patience and no distractions as I had both going for me. I think that a second person would have been more of a distraction with different opinions and second guessing.....it turns out you don't need two people....the contact cement waits nicely for you until your ready to attach!....you better off waiting 10 minutes or so before you stick the 2 sides together, which gives you plenty of time to carefully heat the fabric before you stretch and adhere. One important thing I did learn (after I made the mistake) with this install that I wasn't warned about in any readings....do NOT cut the seams where the panels meet until the end. Cut the fabric on both sides along the seams and glue the fabric onto the window frame whilst leaving the intact seams hanging long till the end. After the headliner is attached everywhere, then go back and cut and glue the seams onto the window frame. I didn't do this at first....instead I cut the fabric AND seams at the same time and this lead to the seams wanting to unravel from the tugging on the liner....not good.....but I caught it before they unraveled much and spent extra time gluing them down. Then I used superglue on the stitching so as to stop it from unraveling any more. I had such a good experience with this install, I wondered if I should write a description of what I did with the tips and tricks I learned and post it here.....or has too much already been written about a headliner install (that I didn't find online)? and thanx for the props....that brew was delicious AFTER the install!
